Yesterday night was one of those nights again. Its been happening for quite a few days now. A lot of power struggle with Chellu over food. " Yuck I don't like this , I don't like that"..And its strange coming from a child who has NEVER had a problem with any veggies. Well that's children! Nothing is predictable.
Yesterday by dinner time I was too tired. The menu was caulifower subji, roti & rice with yogurt. She was in rage over the choices she had and I just gave up. I told her that it was either the menu or nothing for her. She got really angry and declared " Alright then I'll make my own "..She opened the cabinets and the fridge and the masala dabba and surveyed what was available. And then after some pondering , started working on her food. The result: A chutney made of salt, haldi & some hing and a dessert: a grapes lollipop. She basically took out 2 straws, joined them and poked two grapes one after the other to resemble a lollipop.
I didn't taste either of them but Kunju was going gaga over both the inventions and declared that the chutney tasted much better with the rotis than with the subji.
One of the other evenings when the same situation arose, Chellu came up with chocolate cream. Take heavy cream , mix it with chocolate & vanilla !
Looks like the days of " no cooking by mom" are soon approaching!
