March 18, 2015- Learning culture and faith through cooking: Cooking prasaadams or holy offering during Karadiya Nombu

What better way to understand faith , devotion, God and culture other than through food and cooking. The girls and Mahesh duly joined me this day to cook holy offerings to the Goddess on the auspicious day of Karadiya Nombu. The food cooked was rice paste and legume patties or adais in Tamil. Lots of discussions , talks and conversations around God, the reason behind celebrating the festival, about our homestate Tamil Nadu and its people, about their grandparents. So much remembered and learned through pure human connections and everyday , conscious living!
