Come Ganpati Chaturti and its time to indulge in making yummy kozhkatais or coconut filled , rice dumplings for prasadam or holy offerings to our beloved God Ganapati. And since a very young age, the girls have always very enthusiastically pitched in making the prasadams. It not only connects us all and teaches them new things to cook but its an awesome way to connect to our culture and to our divinity. We listened to lotsa of Ganpati bhajans while cooking these.
But this year, Shruthkirti got fed up with the usual kozhakattais and decided that Lord Ganesha needs a change. She gave it an American twist - made a pie instead and cupcakes instead! I'm sure Lord Ganesh was excited enough looking at all the innovations and that one of his little devotees brought in some exciting new changes to the usual treat he gets every year on his birthday!

Shreedhari got further inspired and decided to cut a heart shape from the pie and fill it with blueberry jam . Served it in style with grapes!
