Sept 29, 2015- Cooking with the Dhawals : For the Love of Sabudana Wadas

Since Shruthkirti LOVES cooking with others , I'm always looking for opportunities to cook with kid friendly families who understand and encourage self-driven, child led learning. And you can't beat cooking with Indian women!!
The Dhawals are one such family in our Swadhyay community and Rashmi and her son Vedant are such fun folks to hang out with. Wannabe homeschoolers themselves, they are always so keen to play with the girls and learn more about Hsing. While the elder enjoys cooking with Rashmi, the younger one's love for little kids is also satisfied.

I dropped the girls off at their house for a cooking and playing play date. While Shruthkirti cooked with Rashmi, Shreedhari played with Vedant, while occasionally pitching in with the cooking. Together they made  rotis and sabudana wadas . The latter has been a favorite with Shruthkirti with her loving to cook it since our Pune days- she seems to have perfected the art of kneading the dough.  The sisters then made the wadas together. Shruthkirti also gotto unleash her design capabilities while making the rotis - she tried making heart and flower shaped rotis.
An awesome day overall with everyone so happy and connected. Truly food and free play is such a great way to connect and build community.
